Already claiming the top spot on the UK soul chart ahead of its global release, Natasha Watts finally unveils her long-awaited fourth album, ‘Music Is My Life’ (Release Date: November 17th, 2023).
Enjoying accolades from across the global soul scene for over a decade thanks to her breathtaking live performances, assured songwriting and magnetic personality, Natasha Watts has cemented her position as the reigning princess of independent soul. ‘Music Is My Life’, her fourth studio album, is mature, fully fledged, effortless. This is the sound of an artist stepping confidently into her power.
Classic and timeless, while at times gently playing with the boundaries of contemporary soul, ‘Music Is My Life’ sees Natasha in reflective mood, exploring the depths of human emotion, love, and self-discovery over 11 glorious tracks. An intensely personal writing and recording journey for Natasha, the album also features contributions from trusted production gurus Toni Economides, Mike Patto, Ziggy Funk and Dave Doyle.
‘Brighter Days’, the first taste from the project was offered as a free download exclusively on Natasha’s website early in 2023, gaining playlist positions on JazzFM and Mi Soul. ‘I Am Me’ followed later in the year, selling out on 7″ vinyl before its release and receiving airplay from Tony Blackburn on BBC Radio 2. A limited vinyl pressing of ‘Music Is My Life’ is also almost sold out at the time of writing.
Which brings us to the full, global digital release of the album, and it’s about time too. A remix package will follow in early 2024, featuring Atjazz, Ziggy Funk, Beat Rivals, Pat Bedeau, Dave Doyle, Yam Who?, N’Dinga Gaba and DJ Soulchild. Until then, enjoy ‘Music Is My Life’.
“This project has already propelled me further in the UK scene than I ever thought possible, and I’d like to thank every single one of you who’ve supported me on the journey so far. I’m so excited now finally to share it with the world, followed by the best remix package EVER!”
