Cape Of Good Hope,” the upcoming single finds ‘Shaney Jay aiming to create a song with an anthem-like quality similar to the records referenced.

The title, “YES Y?A,” is further said to be a nod to the popular Cape Town slang word “YesJa,” a versatile term used for agreement or greetings in everyday conversation as Shaney Jay explained that giving the song that title adds on to that “anthem” energy that was relatable to everyone in Cape Town.
The decision to also drop the single came after careful consideration of the right timing. “I had the idea of releasing my own single for at least a year, but I knew the timing wasn’t right
because of some of the projects I was busy with. Finally, I initiated it around August.” Shane Jay elaborates about this moment that also includes a hope to just make people have fun.
