Priddy Ugly’s last & final album called DUST has just dropped as a farewell bid that not only signals the end of an era with 14 tracks in total but also amplifies an essence that we believe encapsulates the ultimate statement of his musical legacy — sincerity and internal contemplation.
As mentioned above, DUST carries a satisfying 14 tracks in total with features from the likes of Maglera Doe Boy, K.Keed, Tyson Sybateli, ZuluMecca, Blxckie, Ginger Trill and Thato Saul with additional artistic & production credits going to the likes of Herc Cut The Lights, MashBeatz, ShooterKhumz & KindlyNxsh which is an impressive assembly of talents both established and unique.
When Priddy revealed details about this project and its significance back in October of last year, the entire game was undoubtedly captivated by the profound meaning embedded in its release but despite the bittersweet nature of the announcement, every successive single release that led up to this freeing moment unmistakably hinted that something special was in the making and on the way… Conceptually it all started from the SOIL before we transitioned through MUD, and it’s now all culminating in DUST…

I’m trying to bury a lot of these concepts and ideas that I’ve held so deep in my heart, in order for it to give birth to something else. I’m looking forward to figuring out what’s beneath all this dust, or when the dust clears…what comes out of it?

In terms of experience, DUST is an immaculate showcase of hip-hop excellence. From Priddy’s lyrical prowess to the high-level production evident in each song offering, the embraced collaborations, and the explored internal/external narratives, this album marks Priddy Ugly’s exit from the stage on a high note.
Whether you’re listening heavy hearted songs such as ‘Rest In Power’ that Priddy uses to remember those we’ve lost while painting vivid pictures of a series of life altering events or whether you play softer offerings such as ‘No Plans’ or straight up head bangers like ‘Mosha’ with K.Keed & Blxckie, even laid-back conscious vibes heard on ‘Soul Food’ with ZuluMecca, DUST is a finale worth remembering.
Here’s a question though: What really emerges once the dust settles?
I have a different outlook on life, I’ve gone through so many things—my perspectives have changed, my tastes have changed, my message has changed.
