Jay Jody has a new body of work called Release Form that he has just teased via some enticing visuals and is scheduled to be released on the 19th of January according to DSP information.
This update came in the form of cinematic promo trailer that starts off with Jody arriving at a parking lot and essentially being stalked, at first, by an unknown individual who continues to follow the ‘Number One’ creator towards a set-up studio session.
Jody then proceeds to arrive at the studio before he notices the stalker which pushes an attempt to confront the hidden figure that is revealed to be an alternative or future version of himself… Which is an interesting reveal because it could carry a handful of meanings such as the internal battles artists go through when it comes to the demand for new music or that the Jay Jody variant is intuition personified…
Even the title of the project echoes the trailer’s theme because if you didn’t know what a “release form” is then here’s one description for you: “Release forms are most used in the film, photography, documentary, music, and radio industries to ensure that any content captured by an entity is owned by them and not by the subjects that work with them on the project.”
However you dissect it, this will all be concluding with an exciting project that will present itself in seven tracks with features from the likes of A-Reece, Ginger Trill, Nyota Parker and Blaklez. Release Form will be the official follow-up to his 2023 Revenge Is Sweet EP.
